Description

The Hive is a 600mm drum pendant light with a black fabric-covered shade over a gold PVC sheet lining, suspended on three fine cables from a matt black metal canopy. The pendant houses six E27 bulb fittings arranged in two rows inside the shade, with the gold interior reflecting and amplifying the light downwards and outwards through the fabric.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living areas where ambient and task lighting overlap, the Hive provides diffused illumination across a 2-3m table or worktop. The 600mm diameter and 370mm height suit rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, with the pendant typically positioned 700-800mm above the table surface. The IP20 rating confines the fitting to dry indoor spaces only.

The matt black metal frame and black fabric exterior present a neutral silhouette under daylight, with the gold PVC interior only revealing itself when the bulbs are lit. This contrast between the dark outer shade and warm metallic glow creates depth in the light pattern, particularly noticeable on surrounding walls and ceilings.
