Description

The HDview HC828FDG is an 8MP (3840 x 2160) IP dome camera with a 2.8mm fixed lens giving a 115° diagonal viewing angle. The camera records in full colour under white LED illumination or switches to infrared mode in darkness, with both modes effective to 30m range. A built-in microphone and speaker provide two-way audio through the network connection.

Designed for 24/7 outdoor installation on commercial and residential properties, the camera fits a grey powder-coated metal dome housing rated IP67 against dust and water ingress. Power is supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating the need for a separate mains cable at the camera position. The camera also accepts a microSD card up to 128GB for local recording as backup to network storage.

The 2.8mm fixed lens is a wide-angle configuration suited to monitoring building entrances, driveways, courtyards and retail interiors where a broad field of view is needed from a single mounting point. The 1/2.8" image sensor delivers 8MP resolution across the entire 115° angle, maintaining detail at the frame edges. The grey finish blends with modern cladding, render and composite materials more naturally than white or black housings.

The camera outputs video over IP network protocols compatible with standard NVR systems and network video management software. White LED and IR illumination modes are selectable through the camera's web interface, allowing the operator to choose between colour night footage with visible light or covert infrared recording depending on site requirements.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between white LED and IR night modes?

White LED mode illuminates the scene with visible white light, producing full-colour footage at night but making the camera's presence obvious. IR mode uses infrared LEDs invisible to the human eye, producing black-and-white footage but remaining covert. Both modes are effective to 30m range and can be toggled through the camera's settings.

Does the camera require separate power and network cables?

No. The camera is powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet), which delivers both power and data over a single Ethernet cable connected to a PoE-capable switch or NVR. This simplifies installation by eliminating the need for a mains outlet at the camera location.

What's the maximum microSD card capacity?

The camera accepts microSD cards up to 128GB. Local recording to the card acts as backup storage in case of network interruption or NVR failure, with footage accessible by removing the card or through the camera's web interface.

Is the two-way audio active by default?

The built-in microphone and speaker are hardware features, but two-way audio functionality must be enabled and configured through your NVR or video management software. Not all NVR systems support two-way audio, so check compatibility before relying on this feature.
