Description

The HDview IP 5MP 32-channel PoE NVR is a network video recorder that manages up to 32 IP CCTV cameras simultaneously, recording at resolutions up to 5MP per channel. The unit ships with a 4TB surveillance-grade hard drive pre-installed, providing storage for continuous recording before older footage is overwritten depending on camera count, resolution and recording schedule.

Designed for commercial premises, multi-room residential installations and warehouses needing centralised recording from multiple IP cameras, the NVR connects to cameras via Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating the need for separate power supplies at each camera location. The 1U rack-mountable chassis fits standard 19-inch server racks or can be shelf-mounted in plant rooms and comms cabinets. The front panel USB port allows footage to be exported to USB drives for evidence transfer or backup.

Remote monitoring is supported via dedicated mobile apps for Android and iOS devices, and via CMS (Client Management Software) on PC and Mac computers, allowing live viewing and playback from off-site. The unit records H.264 or H.265 compressed video depending on camera codec support, with H.265 providing approximately 50% better compression efficiency than H.264 for the same image quality, extending the effective storage duration on the 4TB drive.

The NVR handles mixed camera resolutions across channels, so lower-resolution cameras can be paired with 5MP units on the same recorder without needing separate systems. The metal chassis includes ventilation slots and an internal fan to manage heat from continuous operation, and the unit draws power from a standard UK 3-pin mains connection.

Frequently Asked

How many cameras can this NVR support?

The NVR supports up to 32 IP cameras simultaneously, recording at resolutions up to 5MP per channel. Cameras connect via PoE (Power over Ethernet), so each camera draws both data and power through a single network cable.

How long does 4TB of storage last?

Recording duration depends on the number of cameras, their resolution settings, frame rate, compression codec (H.264 vs H.265), and whether recording is continuous or motion-triggered. As a rough guide, 4TB can store approximately 10-15 days of continuous recording from 32 cameras at 5MP resolution using H.265 compression, or 5-7 days using H.264.

Can I view footage remotely?

Yes. The NVR supports remote monitoring via mobile apps for Android and iOS, and via CMS (Client Management Software) on PC and Mac. You can view live feeds and playback recorded footage from off-site, provided the NVR is connected to a network with internet access and appropriate port forwarding or cloud relay is configured.

Is the hard drive replaceable or expandable?

The 4TB surveillance-grade hard drive is pre-installed but can be replaced with a larger capacity drive if needed. Check the product manual or contact us for maximum supported drive capacity and compatible models before upgrading.
