Description

The HDview 8-channel 4MP CCTV system pairs a DVR (digital video recorder) with four weatherproof bullet cameras, a 2TB surveillance-grade hard drive, 25m of cabling per camera and a centralised 12V power supply for the complete camera array. Each camera records at 4MP resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) and includes built-in infrared LEDs for night vision, with an IP66 rating for outdoor installation in rain, dust and UK weather conditions.

Designed for small business premises, residential properties and light commercial installations requiring coverage of four zones (driveways, car parks, entrances, loading bays), the system supports expansion to eight cameras total without replacing the DVR. Live monitoring is accessible via HDMI or VGA connection to a monitor on-site, or remotely through the included mobile app (Android/iOS) or PC software over a wired network connection or PowerLine adapter. Recording modes include continuous, scheduled time-blocks and motion-triggered capture, with footage stored on the 2TB hard drive and exportable via USB for evidence transfer.

The DVR operates silently with fanless cooling and provides a mouse-driven interface for reviewing footage, adjusting camera settings and configuring recording schedules. The four included bullet cameras use fixed 3.6mm lenses with a field of view suitable for monitoring areas 5-15m from the camera position, such as doorways, pathways and vehicle access points. Each camera mounts via a wall bracket with cable pass-through and connects to the DVR via the supplied 25m runs of coaxial cable, allowing the DVR to be located centrally while cameras are distributed around a property perimeter.

The kit arrives with the 2TB hard drive pre-installed and formatted, the four cameras, four 25m cable runs, the centralised 12V PSU (power supply unit) feeding all cameras from a single mains connection, mouse, and both HDMI and VGA output cables for monitor connection. The system uses the AHD (Analogue High Definition) standard rather than IP networking, meaning cameras connect via coaxial cable rather than Ethernet, simplifying installation in properties without existing network infrastructure.

Frequently Asked

Can the system be expanded to more than four cameras?

Yes. The DVR is an 8-channel unit, so it supports up to eight cameras total. Additional HDview bullet cameras (model SHDVC36FBG for grey or SHDVC36FBW for white) can be added individually, each requiring a separate cable run back to the DVR and connection to the central power supply.

How is the system accessed remotely?

Remote monitoring works via the included mobile app for Android and iOS devices, or via the CMS (Central Management System) software for PC. Both require the DVR to be connected to your network either via Ethernet cable or a PowerLine adapter that uses your property's mains wiring to extend network access.

What's the night vision range?

Each bullet camera has built-in infrared LEDs rated for up to 25m night vision in complete darkness. Effective range depends on scene reflectivity — lighter-coloured surfaces (walls, paving) reflect more IR and extend the usable range, while darker surfaces absorb IR and reduce it.

Is the 2TB hard drive replaceable or upgradable?

Yes. The DVR accepts surveillance-grade SATA hard drives from 500GB up to 8TB. The pre-installed 2TB drive can be replaced if additional storage capacity is needed, though this requires opening the DVR enclosure and is typically only necessary for installations recording continuously across all eight channels.
