Description

The HDview HC864R is a 64-channel network video recorder supporting up to 8MP resolution IP cameras with an 8TB surveillance-grade hard drive pre-installed. The NVR uses H.265 video compression to reduce file sizes by up to 50% compared to H.264 while maintaining the same image quality, extending the effective storage capacity and allowing longer retention periods for 8MP footage.

Designed for commercial, industrial and large residential installations requiring centralized recording from multiple IP cameras, the NVR supports simultaneous playback, live view and remote access without interrupting recording. Two uplink ports allow network expansion beyond a single switch, and the unit can record continuously, on schedule, on motion detection or when intelligent detection features trigger. Line cross detection and perimeter intrusion detection reduce false alerts by filtering out movement outside defined zones.

The HDMI output supports resolutions up to 4K for local monitoring, and footage can be backed up to USB storage for evidence transfer or archival. Each channel supports cable runs up to 250m from camera to recorder when using standard network cable. Remote monitoring is available through the dedicated mobile app for iOS and Android. The unit measures 573mm wide by 202mm high, fitting standard 2U rack enclosures, and weighs 8.4kg net plus the hard drive.

The NVR supports IP cameras up to 8MP resolution across all 64 channels. Lower-resolution cameras can be mixed on the same system, but 8MP is the maximum input resolution per channel.

How long does 8TB store 8MP footage?

Storage duration depends on the number of active cameras, resolution, frame rate and compression settings. With H.265 compression and 64 cameras recording 8MP at 15fps continuously, 8TB typically provides 7-10 days of retention. Fewer cameras or motion-triggered recording extends this significantly.

Can I access footage remotely?

Yes. The NVR supports remote monitoring through the dedicated mobile app for iOS and Android. The unit must be connected to a network with internet access, and port forwarding or P2P cloud connection is required depending on your network configuration.
