Description

The HDview 5MP fisheye dome IP camera uses a 1.1mm fixed lens to capture a full 360° panoramic view from a single ceiling-mounted position, eliminating blind spots in retail, hospitality and commercial surveillance installations. The 1/2.9" image sensor records at 5-megapixel resolution with H.265 compression, reducing bandwidth and storage requirements compared to H.264 while maintaining image quality. Built-in infrared LEDs provide up to 5m night vision range in complete darkness.

Designed for indoor ceiling mounting in shops, reception areas, offices and warehouses where a traditional camera's narrow field of view would require multiple units, the fisheye lens allows one camera to monitor an entire room. The IP64-rated white housing protects against dust ingress and light water spray, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas such as porches and canopies. Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support means a single network cable carries both data and power, simplifying installation.

The camera includes SD card storage for local recording, alarm trigger inputs and outputs for integration with door sensors or sirens, audio input and output for two-way communication, and a video output for direct monitor connection during setup. ONVIF compliance ensures compatibility with third-party recording software and network video recorders. ESP specifies compatibility with their HDVIP16R, HDVIP116R, HDVIP32R and HDVIP132R NVR models, though the camera will function with any ONVIF-compliant recorder or PC-based viewing software.

The 150mm diameter white dome housing sits 100mm deep when ceiling-mounted, with the black lens element recessed behind a smoked dome cover. The fisheye view requires de-warping software (included in compatible NVRs or third-party viewing applications) to display the 360° image as split quadrants, panoramic strips, or virtual PTZ views that can be controlled after recording.

Frequently Asked

What area does the 360° view cover?

The 1.1mm fisheye lens captures everything below the camera in a full 360° circle. From a typical 3m ceiling height, this covers approximately 25-30 square metres in a single view. De-warping software in the NVR or viewing application converts the circular fisheye image into usable quadrant, panoramic or virtual PTZ views.

Can this be used outdoors?

The IP64 rating protects against dust and light water spray, making the camera suitable for covered outdoor locations such as porches, canopies and eaves where it's protected from direct rain. It is not rated for fully exposed outdoor mounting in open weather.

Does it need a special recorder?

The camera is ONVIF-compliant and works with any ONVIF-compatible NVR or PC-based viewing software. ESP lists compatibility with their HDVIP16R, HDVIP116R, HDVIP32R and HDVIP132R models, but it will function with other brands' recorders that support ONVIF and provide fisheye de-warping.

How is it powered?

The camera supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), meaning a single Cat5e or Cat6 network cable supplies both data connection and electrical power. A PoE-enabled network switch or PoE injector is required.
