Description

The HDview 5MP bullet IP camera delivers 2560×1920 resolution through a motorised 5-50mm varifocal lens mounted in a white weatherproof housing. The 1/2.7-inch image sensor captures detail across a 45° to 7° viewing angle depending on zoom position, with the lens adjustable remotely via the camera's web interface rather than manual focus rings.

Designed for perimeter monitoring, car parks, driveways and building exteriors where variable focal length is needed to cover both wide-area surveillance and zoomed identification, the camera mounts to walls or soffits via a three-axis bracket. Sixty infrared LEDs provide illumination up to 60m in total darkness, switching automatically at dusk. H.265 video compression reduces bandwidth and storage requirements compared to H.264 while maintaining image quality, and ONVIF compliance ensures compatibility with third-party NVRs and video management software.

The IP66-rated housing protects internal components from dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, making the camera suitable for year-round outdoor installation in UK weather conditions. Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support allows a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable to deliver both data and power, simplifying installation where mains outlets are not accessible. The camera measures 335mm in length and weighs 1.8kg, requiring secure mounting to handle wind load on exposed elevations.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between 5mm and 50mm on the lens?

At 5mm the camera captures a wide 45° viewing angle suitable for monitoring an entire driveway or building frontage. At 50mm the angle narrows to 7°, providing a zoomed view for identifying faces or vehicle registration plates at distance. The lens adjusts remotely via the camera's web interface.

Does it record in the dark?

Yes. Sixty infrared LEDs built into the camera housing provide illumination up to 60m in total darkness. The camera switches to infrared mode automatically at dusk and returns to colour during daylight.

Can it connect to my existing NVR?

The camera is ONVIF-compliant, which means it works with most modern network video recorders and third-party video management software. Check your NVR supports ONVIF Profile S for full compatibility.

Does it need separate power or just a network cable?

The camera supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), so a single CAT5e or CAT6 network cable connected to a PoE switch or PoE injector delivers both data and power. No separate mains adapter is required if your network infrastructure supports PoE.
