Description

The HDview 5MP anti-vandal dome IP camera combines a 5-megapixel 1/2.7" image sensor with a fixed 3.6mm lens, delivering a 92° viewing angle suitable for monitoring shop floors, warehouse entrances, car parks and building perimeters. The camera records at 2592 x 1944 resolution and uses H.265 compression to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements compared to H.264 without sacrificing image quality.

Built for both indoor and outdoor installation, the camera carries IP66 ingress protection against dust and water jets, and IK10 impact resistance against vandalism. The white dome housing measures 160mm diameter and sits 130mm proud of the mounting surface, making it suitable for ceiling and soffit mounting in commercial, industrial and residential settings. Infrared LEDs built into the dome provide up to 30m of night vision, switching on automatically in low-light conditions.

Power is supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating the need for separate mains cabling and allowing the camera to be installed wherever a network cable can be run. The camera is ONVIF compliant, meaning it integrates with third-party NVRs and video management systems from manufacturers beyond ESP's own ecosystem. Two-way audio capability is supported via external microphone and speaker connections, useful for intercoms at entry points or vocal deterrence in monitored areas.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between the 3.6mm and 2.8mm lens versions?

The 3.6mm lens provides a 92° viewing angle and is suited to focused monitoring of specific areas like doorways, till points or vehicle entry gates. The 2.8mm version (if available) offers a wider field of view, typically around 105-110°, better for covering larger open spaces like full room overviews.

Does it require a separate NVR or recorder?

Yes. The camera outputs an IP video stream over the network and requires either a compatible NVR (network video recorder) or a PC-based video management system to record footage. The camera is ONVIF compliant, so it works with most third-party recorders.

How is it powered?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) supplies both data and power through a single network cable, eliminating the need for separate mains wiring. You will need a PoE switch or PoE injector to power the camera unless your network switch already provides PoE on the relevant port.

What does IK10 impact protection mean?

IK10 is the highest rating on the IK impact scale, meaning the camera can withstand a direct impact of 20 joules — roughly equivalent to a 5kg weight dropped from 40cm. This makes the dome suitable for installations where deliberate or accidental physical contact is a risk.
