Description

The HDview 4MP AHD dome camera captures video at 2560x1440 resolution through a 6-22mm varifocal lens that covers viewing angles from 40° at the wide end to 15° at the telephoto end. The lens is manually adjustable on installation, allowing installers to frame the required coverage area without needing to reposition the camera body. Thirty infrared LEDs around the lens provide illumination up to 30 metres in complete darkness, switching on automatically when ambient light drops below the sensor threshold.

Designed for outdoor and high-traffic indoor locations, the camera fits a vandal-resistant IP66 weatherproof housing rated for exposure to rain, dust and impact. The three-axis cable management bracket allows installers to mount the camera on walls or ceilings and adjust pan, tilt and rotation independently to align the field of view. The 4MP AHD sensor outputs to standard coaxial cabling over distances up to 500 metres, making it compatible with existing CCTV infrastructure without requiring network cabling or PoE injectors.

The camera incorporates digital wide dynamic range (D-WDR) with adaptive tone reproduction (ATR) to handle scenes with both bright and dark areas in the same frame, such as doorways with strong backlighting or car parks with mixed shade and direct sunlight. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional noise reduction processing reduce graininess in low-light footage, while high light compensation prevents overexposure from headlights or security lighting pointed directly at the lens. The white dome housing measures approximately 140mm diameter and projects 110mm from the mounting surface once installed.

Frequently Asked

What type of cabling does this camera require?

The HDview uses standard coaxial cabling (RG59 or similar) to carry the AHD video signal back to a compatible DVR. It runs on 12V DC power supplied via a separate cable or through a combined siamese cable with integrated power and video conductors. The maximum recommended cable run is 500 metres for the video signal.

Can the lens zoom be adjusted remotely?

No. The 6-22mm varifocal lens is manually adjustable on installation by loosening a locking ring on the lens housing, setting the zoom and focus to frame the required area, then tightening the ring to lock the setting. Once installed, the zoom and focus remain fixed unless physically adjusted again.

What is the infrared range in practice?

The thirty infrared LEDs provide illumination up to 30 metres in complete darkness. Effective range depends on scene reflectivity — lighter surfaces such as walls or paving reflect more infrared and extend usable range, while darker surfaces such as tarmac or foliage absorb infrared and reduce range.

Is the camera suitable for indoor use?

Yes. The IP66 weatherproof rating makes it suitable for both outdoor installation and high-traffic indoor locations such as retail entrances, car parks, stairwells and corridors where vandal resistance is needed.
