Description

The HDview 4MP AHD bullet camera records in 2560x1440 resolution using a 4-megapixel AHD sensor and a 6-22mm varifocal lens that provides a field of view between 37.2° and 14.4° depending on zoom setting. Built-in infrared illumination with 50m effective range allows the camera to capture usable footage in complete darkness, with the IR LEDs arranged in a ring around the lens housing.

Designed for outdoor perimeter monitoring, car parks, driveways and building frontages, the camera fits a standard 3-axis cable management bracket that allows the lens to be aimed independently of the mounting surface. The IP66-rated metal housing protects internal electronics from rain, dust and impact, making it suitable for year-round outdoor installation in the UK climate. The camera requires a 12V DC power supply and connects to an AHD DVR via coaxial cable (both sold separately).

D-WDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range) processing compensates for high-contrast scenes where bright and dark areas appear in the same frame, using ATR (Adaptive Tone Reproduction) to balance exposure across both zones. The sensor applies 2D and 3D noise reduction to maintain image clarity in low-light conditions, while high light compensation prevents blooming when the camera is pointed towards headlights or security lighting. The varifocal lens allows the field of view to be adjusted on installation without changing the camera body.

Frequently Asked

What is the effective infrared range?

The built-in infrared LEDs provide illumination up to 50m in complete darkness. Effective range depends on scene reflectivity and lens zoom setting — at maximum 22mm zoom the illuminated area is narrower but reaches further than at wide 6mm.

What recorder does this camera require?

The camera outputs 4MP AHD signal over coaxial cable and requires an AHD-compatible DVR with 4MP recording capability. It will not work with analogue-only DVRs or IP/NVR systems without a signal converter.

Can the lens be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The 6-22mm varifocal lens can be adjusted by opening the front dome housing and rotating the zoom and focus rings. This allows the field of view to be set between wide-angle monitoring and telephoto detail capture without replacing the camera.

Is the camera suitable for outdoor use in the UK?

Yes. The IP66 rating protects against rain, dust and impact. The metal housing withstands temperature variation and the infrared LEDs remain effective in sub-zero conditions. The camera requires a weatherproof 12V DC power supply (sold separately).
