Description

The HDview 4MP AHD bullet camera combines a 4-megapixel AHD sensor with a manually-adjustable 5-50mm varifocal lens, delivering viewing angles from 42.1° wide-angle to 6.3° telephoto. Built-in infrared LEDs provide up to 50m night vision range, with the IR array automatically switching on when ambient light drops below a set threshold. The camera records to an AHD DVR (sold separately) over standard coaxial cable.

Designed for outdoor surveillance installations requiring long-distance identification, the camera sits in an IP66-rated metal bullet housing that protects internal components from rain, dust and wind-driven moisture. The 3-axis cable management bracket allows the camera to be mounted on walls, eaves or pole brackets with pan, tilt and rotation adjustment to fine-tune the field of view after installation. The varifocal lens is adjusted manually via a focus ring on the camera body, with no need for re-cabling when changing zoom level.

D-WDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range) incorporating ATR (Adaptive Tone Reproduction) balances exposure between bright and shadowed areas within the same frame, useful when covering doorways, car parks or building entrances where strong backlight from windows or street lighting would normally cause dark silhouettes. The 2D and 3D noise reduction algorithms reduce grainy artefacts in low-light footage, while high light compensation prevents overexposure from car headlights or security lighting pointed towards the lens. The camera operates on 12V DC power (PSU sold separately) and the white housing blends against rendered walls, fascias and soffits.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between the 5mm and 50mm zoom settings?

At 5mm the camera provides a 42.1° field of view suitable for monitoring wider areas like driveways or front gardens. At 50mm the view narrows to 6.3°, allowing long-distance identification of faces or number plates at ranges up to 30-40m depending on lighting. The lens is adjusted manually via the focus ring on the camera body.

What recorder does this camera work with?

This is a 4MP AHD camera and requires an AHD-compatible DVR. It will not work with standard analogue CCTV DVRs, IP NVRs, or TVI/CVI recorders. The camera connects via coaxial cable (typically RG59) and requires a separate 12V DC power supply.

Can it be used indoors?

Yes, though the IP66 weatherproof housing and IR range make it primarily designed for outdoor use. The camera can be mounted indoors in warehouses, workshops or car parks where the robust metal housing and long IR range are beneficial.

What's the night vision range?

The built-in infrared LEDs provide up to 50m range in total darkness. Actual visibility depends on the zoom setting — at wide-angle (5mm) the IR covers a broader area with moderate range, while at telephoto (50mm) the IR concentrates into a narrower beam reaching further.
