Description

The HDview 4MP AHD bullet camera combines a 4-megapixel sensor with a manually adjustable 5-50mm varifocal lens, providing viewing angles from 42.1° at wide-angle to 6.3° at telephoto zoom. Built-in infrared LEDs deliver 50m night vision range in complete darkness, and the IP66-rated grey metal housing protects the camera against rain, dust and temperature extremes for permanent outdoor installation.

Designed for perimeter surveillance, car parks, driveways and building exteriors where the monitored area varies in distance from the mounting point, the varifocal lens allows installers to frame the field of view after mounting without repositioning the camera bracket. The 4MP resolution captures number plates, facial features and movement detail at distances up to 25m in daylight and 50m under infrared at night. The camera outputs analogue HD over coaxial cable to a compatible AHD DVR recorder.

The housing incorporates a three-axis cable management bracket that routes the video and power cables inside the mount, keeping them out of view and protected from weather. D-WDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range) balances exposure in scenes with strong backlighting or shadow contrast, while 2D and 3D noise reduction algorithms keep recorded footage clean in low-light conditions without excessive grain. High Light Compensation prevents glare from headlights or streetlights overwhelming the image at night.

The varifocal lens is adjusted manually using a side-access screw, allowing fine-tuning of zoom and focus after the camera is mounted and powered. Once set, the lens holds position without drift. The camera requires 12V DC power (power supply sold separately) and connects to an AHD DVR using standard RG59 or RG6 coaxial cable, supporting cable runs up to 500m without signal loss.

Frequently Asked

What recorder does this camera work with?

The camera outputs 4MP analogue HD over AHD (Analogue High Definition) protocol. It requires an AHD-compatible DVR that supports 4MP resolution. The camera will not work with standard analogue DVRs or IP network recorders without a conversion device.

How is the lens adjusted?

The 5-50mm varifocal lens is adjusted manually using side-access screws for zoom and focus. Adjustments are made after the camera is mounted and powered, allowing the installer to frame the exact field of view needed. Once set, the lens holds position without requiring readjustment.

What cable and power does it need?

The camera connects to the DVR using standard RG59 or RG6 coaxial cable and requires 12V DC power via a separate cable. Power supplies are sold separately. Cable runs up to 500m are supported without signal degradation on coaxial.

Can it be used indoors?

Yes. The IP66 weatherproof housing is designed for permanent outdoor installation but the camera functions equally well indoors. The infrared LEDs and metal housing make it particularly suited to warehouses, garages and commercial interiors where robust construction is preferred over domestic-style housings.
