Description

The HDview 8-channel CCTV kit combines a 4MP digital video recorder with four IP66-rated dome cameras in grey, a 1TB surveillance-grade hard drive, 25m of camera cable and a 12V system power supply. The DVR supports up to eight cameras total, with four included and capacity to add four more using the remaining channels. Each dome camera records at 4MP resolution with infrared LEDs for night vision up to 25m and a fixed 3.6mm lens providing approximately 80° horizontal field of view.

Designed for residential properties, small offices and retail premises needing multi-camera monitoring, the system records continuously, on schedule or on motion detection depending on user preference. Footage is stored on the pre-installed 1TB hard drive and can be backed up to USB for evidence transfer. The DVR connects to a monitor via HDMI or VGA output and supports remote viewing via free Android/iOS apps or Windows CMS software over a wired network connection or PowerLine adapter.

The dome cameras carry IP66 weatherproof rating for outdoor installation, with grey housings designed to be less conspicuous against rendered walls, concrete and light stone. The DVR operates silently without fan noise and uses a mouse-driven interface for configuration and playback. The 4MP live view provides enough detail to identify faces and vehicle registration plates within the camera's effective range, which is typically 6-10m for facial recognition and 15-20m for general activity monitoring depending on lighting conditions and lens positioning.

The system ships with everything needed for installation except the monitor: DVR unit with 1TB drive pre-installed, four dome cameras, four 25m combined power and video cables, a 12V PSU rated to power all four cameras from a single mains outlet, mounting brackets and screws for the cameras, and a USB mouse for DVR navigation. The hard drive capacity can be upgraded separately to 2TB, 4TB or 8TB models if longer retention periods are needed.

Frequently Asked

Can the system support more than four cameras?

Yes. The DVR is an 8-channel unit, so it can connect up to eight cameras total. Four dome cameras are included in this kit, leaving four channels available for expansion. Additional cameras must be purchased separately and should match the 4MP AHD/TVI specification for compatibility.

How is remote viewing set up?

The DVR connects to your router via Ethernet cable. Once connected, you download the HDview app (Android/iOS) or CMS software (Windows) and add the DVR using its unique ID or IP address. Remote access requires the DVR to have internet connectivity via your router, either through a direct wired connection or using a PowerLine adapter to extend the network.

What's the night vision range?

The dome cameras have infrared LEDs rated for up to 25m night vision in total darkness. Actual effective range depends on the scene — facial identification is typically reliable to 6-10m at night, while general activity monitoring extends to 15-20m.

Are the cameras suitable for outdoor installation?

Yes. The dome cameras carry IP66 weatherproof rating, making them suitable for installation outdoors under eaves, soffits or wall-mounted positions exposed to rain. The cable glands should be sealed with silicone after installation to prevent water ingress at the connection point.
