Description

The HDview 32-channel PoE NVR is a network video recorder designed for IP CCTV installations requiring up to 32 camera inputs. The unit records video streams at resolutions up to 5MP (2560x1920) and ships with a 12TB surveillance-grade hard drive pre-installed, providing storage capacity equivalent to approximately 30-45 days of continuous recording at 5MP across all 32 channels depending on motion activity and compression settings.

Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) compatibility allows compatible IP cameras to receive power and data over a single network cable, reducing installation complexity and cabling runs in commercial, retail and multi-property residential installations. The NVR supports remote monitoring via dedicated mobile apps for Android and iOS devices, as well as CMS (Central Management System) software for PC and Mac, allowing operators to view live feeds and recorded footage from off-site locations.

The chassis measures 480mm wide, fitting into standard 19-inch rack mounts with suitable brackets (not included), and stands 95mm tall in 2U configuration. USB ports on the front panel support direct backup of recorded footage to external drives for evidence transfer or archival without requiring network access. The unit weighs 3.97kg net (5.51kg packaged), with the surveillance hard drive accounting for the majority of the weight and providing sustained write performance optimised for continuous multi-stream recording rather than standard desktop drive specifications.

Recording settings are configurable per channel, allowing different resolution, frame rate and compression profiles to be applied depending on the critical nature of each camera view. Motion detection recording reduces storage consumption on low-activity cameras while maintaining continuous recording on priority areas. The rear panel provides Ethernet connectivity for camera inputs and network access, HDMI and VGA outputs for local monitor connection, and audio in/out terminals for two-way audio on compatible camera models.

Frequently Asked

Does this NVR power the cameras directly?

The HDview NVR supports Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) on compatible IP cameras, delivering power and data over a single Ethernet cable per camera. The number of PoE ports and the power budget available depends on the specific NVR model variant — consult the Product Specification Sheet in the Downloads tab for exact PoE port count and wattage allocation.

How much recording time does 12TB provide?

Recording duration depends on the number of active cameras, resolution, frame rate and compression codec used. As a rough guide, 12TB provides approximately 30-45 days of continuous recording across all 32 channels at 5MP resolution with H.264 or H.265 compression, assuming moderate motion activity. Lower resolutions or motion-triggered recording modes extend storage duration significantly.

Can I access the recordings remotely?

Yes. The NVR supports remote viewing via dedicated mobile apps for Android and iOS devices, and CMS software for PC and Mac. Remote access requires the NVR to be connected to a router with internet access and appropriate port forwarding or cloud services configured. Consult the Product Manual for setup instructions.

What format are the camera inputs?

This is an IP NVR designed for network-connected IP cameras. It does not accept analogue coaxial camera inputs (BNC). The cameras must support IP connectivity over Ethernet and use compatible video compression codecs (typically H.264 or H.265). Maximum supported resolution per channel is 5MP.
