Description

The Guss is a 90cm LED bollard light built from die-cast aluminium with a graphite powder-coated finish and a rectangular angled head that directs light downward onto pathways, driveways and garden borders. The integrated 15W LED runs at 3000K warm white, casting enough light to define pathway edges without spilling excessive glare upward into neighbouring windows or the night sky.

Rated IP65 for dust and water resistance, the Guss is designed for year-round outdoor installation in UK weather conditions including heavy rain and driving wind. The rectangular head sits at a fixed angle on a flat-section column, with the base plate fixing to paving, gravel or concrete via four mounting points. The 90cm height positions the light source above typical ground-level planting and low borders, giving clear coverage across a 2-3m pathway width when bollards are spaced 3-4m apart.

The graphite finish is a mid-tone metallic grey that sits between black and raw aluminium, absorbing heat during daylight without showing weathering as readily as lighter finishes. IP65 confirms the Guss is fully dust-sealed and protected against water jets from any direction. This means it will withstand UK rain, garden hose spray and surface water pooling during storms. It is not submersible — do not install in locations where the base will sit in standing water for extended periods.

How is the bollard wired?

The Guss requires mains 220-240V AC supply cabled underground to the base plate. Most installations use armoured cable buried at least 450mm deep in a protective conduit. A qualified electrician should plan and install the cable run, especially where it crosses driveways or areas subject to ground movement.

How far apart should bollards be spaced?

For continuous pathway lighting, space the Guss bollards 3-4m apart along one side or both sides of the path. For accent lighting or security, wider spacing of 5-6m is workable. The 15W output and downward-angled head give a pool of light approximately 2-3m in diameter at ground level.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED is integrated into the bollard and is not user-replaceable. The 15W LED has a typical lifespan of 25,000-30,000 hours, which at 6 hours per night equates to approximately 11-14 years of operation before significant light degradation occurs.
