Description

The GuardCam is a combined 1080p HD camera, 800-lumen LED security light and PIR motion sensor in a single IP55-rated housing, designed for outdoor mounting on walls, above doorways or garages. The camera records to an internal 8GB memory card when motion is detected, stores up to 200 events, and streams live 1080p video over Wi-Fi to the companion mobile app.

Intended for residential driveways, front doors, garden paths and commercial premises where both lighting and video surveillance are needed from a single fitting, the GuardCam mounts on a pivoting bracket that allows the camera and light to be angled after installation. The 3000K LED lamp outputs 800 lumens when triggered by the PIR sensor or can be dimmed or switched remotely via the app, eliminating the need for a separate outdoor light switch. Two-way audio runs through the app, allowing conversation with delivery drivers or visitors from inside the house.

The camera captures a wide-angle field of view covering typical doorway and driveway widths. Recordings are stored locally on the 8GB card without cloud fees or monthly subscriptions, and events trigger push notifications to the app when motion is detected. The metal housing carries IP55 ingress protection against dust and low-pressure water jets, suitable for UK weather when installed under an overhang or soffit. Requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network or wired LAN connection and mains power connection during installation.

Does it require a subscription for cloud storage?

No. The GuardCam stores recordings on an included 8GB memory card inside the unit, holding up to 200 motion-triggered events. There are no monthly fees or cloud storage costs.

What network connection does it need?

The camera requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network or wired LAN connection. It will not connect to 5GHz-only Wi-Fi networks. Check your router settings before installation to confirm 2.4GHz is enabled.

Can the light be controlled separately from the camera?

Yes. The 800-lumen LED can be dimmed, turned on or off remotely via the app, independently of the camera and PIR motion detection. This allows the light to act as a standard outdoor fitting when video recording is not needed.

Is it fully weatherproof?

The housing carries IP55 ingress protection, meaning it resists dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It suits installation under soffits, eaves or canopies where it receives some shelter. Direct exposure to heavy driving rain over long periods may shorten the lifespan of the seals.
