Description

The Griffin is a 422mm semi-flush ceiling light with an etched white glass bowl suspended from an antique nickel frame via three curved support arms. The frame mounts directly to the ceiling on a low-profile canopy, giving a total drop of 301mm from ceiling to the bottom of the glass shade. Three E27 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the bowl, with the etched glass diffusing the light evenly across the room.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2-2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, the Griffin suits hallways, smaller bedrooms, compact dining areas and low-ceilinged living rooms. The semi-flush configuration provides central ambient light without the clearance requirements of a full pendant drop. The 422mm diameter covers enough ceiling area to anchor a 3-4m room without overwhelming the proportions.

The antique nickel finish on the metal frame has a brushed texture with subtle darkening in the recesses, giving it a warmer tone than polished nickel or chrome. The three support arms curve outward from the central column before bending back to grip the glass bowl at its rim, creating a light profile that sits closer to the ceiling than traditional pendant styles. The etched finish on the white glass hides the bulb filaments and prevents glare when viewed from below.

How is the glass shade cleaned?

The etched glass can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and mild detergent. For deeper cleaning, the glass bowl can be removed from the metal frame by loosening the finial at the base of the fitting once the power is isolated.
