Description

The Gravity is a 318mm diameter flush ceiling light with two E27 bulb fittings mounted behind a white opal etched glass diffuser, set within a polished nickel rim frame. The 108mm profile sits tight to the ceiling, making this a functional choice for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low or for hallways and corridors where headroom matters.

Designed for general ambient lighting rather than task or accent work, the Gravity suits bedrooms, living rooms, utility rooms and entrance halls where diffused light across the full ceiling plane is needed. The white opal glass spreads light evenly without glare or hot spots, and the twin E27 sockets accept standard LED bulbs (sold separately), typically 6-10W each for adequate room lighting. The polished nickel finish provides a warmer metallic tone than chrome, sitting between silver and brass on the colour spectrum.

The glass shade is etched on the interior surface to diffuse light while keeping the exterior smooth for easier cleaning. The polished nickel rim is a solid metal frame rather than plated plastic, giving the fitting a weight of approximately 1.2kg once assembled. The Gravity mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose with the backplate concealing the fixing screws, and the glass shade is removable for bulb changes without dismantling the entire fixture.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does it take?

The Gravity takes two standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with two 6-10W LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for general room lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 108mm profile sits tight to the ceiling, making this a good choice for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low or where headroom needs to be maximised.

How is the glass shade removed for bulb changes?

The white opal glass diffuser is held in place by the metal rim frame. The shade can be removed by loosening the retaining screws or clips (depending on the specific mounting method used in this model) without needing to dismantle the ceiling backplate.

What's the difference between polished nickel and polished chrome?

Polished nickel has a warmer, slightly softer metallic tone with a hint of gold undertone. Polished chrome is cooler and bluer. Polished nickel sits between silver and brass on the colour spectrum and pairs well with warm-toned interiors.
