Description

The Gleara is a vertical pendant light built around five glass elements stacked on a central tube diffuser, with an integrated 39W 3000K LED. The stack alternates two white oval glass forms with three clear grey glass spheres, all hand-blown, separated by polished metal bands. A matt white painted metal canopy and 2000mm transparent PVC cable complete the fitting.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and stairwells with high ceilings, the Gleara works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above where the 1083mm drop can be accommodated without the pendant sitting too low. The 160mm diameter keeps the form slender enough for placement over narrower tables or in entrance halls where a wider pendant would overwhelm the space. The warm white 3000K LED casts diffused light through the white glass ovals and softer accent light through the grey spheres.

Each blown glass element shows slight variation in thickness and tonal consistency, a characteristic of hand-blown production rather than machine-formed glass. The white ovals provide the primary diffusion, softening the LED source into ambient light, while the grey spheres add vertical rhythm and reflect light internally without blocking it entirely. The matt white metal frame and canopy pair cleanly with white or neutral ceilings, and the IP20 rating restricts installation to dry indoor locations only.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1083mm drop works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. For a dining table or kitchen island, the pendant typically hangs 700-800mm above the surface, which requires the additional ceiling clearance to avoid the fitting sitting too low.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Gleara to dry indoor locations only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, kitchens directly above sinks, or outdoor covered areas where moisture is present.

Does the glass vary between pieces?

Yes. Each white oval and grey sphere is hand-blown, so slight variation in wall thickness, tonal consistency and internal bubbles is normal. This is a feature of blown glass production, not a defect.
