Description

The Glacia is a recessed magnetic ceiling rose designed to mount pendant lights flush to the ceiling surface without a visible canopy. The 110mm diameter steel base sits into a ceiling cut-out, with spring-loaded retention clips holding it in place against the plasterboard from above. A central magnetic collar accepts compatible Ideal Lux pendant suspension systems, allowing the pendant to be installed and removed without tools.

Designed for modern and industrial interiors where a traditional ceiling rose would add unwanted visual bulk, the Glacia suits single pendant installations over kitchen islands, dining tables, bedside positions and hallway entries. The recessed design means the only visible element once fitted is a low-profile black disc sitting flush with the ceiling, with the pendant cable emerging from the centre. The magnetic connection allows pendants to be changed seasonally or when redecorating without re-wiring the ceiling connection.

The matt black powder-coated finish sits flush with white or off-white ceilings without creating a heavy contrast, and blends directly into dark-painted ceilings. The steel construction and spring-clip retention system distribute the load of the pendant across the back of the plasterboard, making the fitting suitable for ceilings with standard 12.5mm board thickness. The 5-year warranty covers the magnetic collar mechanism and the structural integrity of the steel base.

What ceiling cut-out size is needed?

A 110mm diameter hole is required in the plasterboard. The spring-loaded clips expand behind the board to hold the rose in place, so no additional framing or noggins are needed for standard 12.5mm plasterboard.

The Glacia is designed for horizontal flat ceilings. On sloped or angled ceilings the spring clips may not retain the rose securely, and the magnetic pendant connection may not align correctly.
