Description

The Glacia is a 1200mm rectangular ceiling canopy designed to support up to five pendant lights from a single ceiling rose point. The canopy is made from powder-coated white metal with five evenly-spaced cable exit points along its length, allowing pendants to be hung in a linear arrangement over kitchen islands, dining tables or worktops.

Installation requires a single ceiling outlet box positioned centrally above the canopy. The electrical connections are made inside the canopy housing, with individual pendant cables running out through the exit points and the canopy itself mounted flush or semi-flush to the ceiling depending on the specific ceiling construction. The 1200mm length suits typical 1500-2000mm wide kitchen islands or 1600-2000mm long dining tables when pendants are spaced 250-300mm apart.

The white powder-coated finish on the metal housing provides a neutral base that works with both warm and cool-toned interiors. The 70mm projection from the ceiling keeps the canopy relatively low-profile while allowing sufficient space for cable routing and connections inside. The five exit points are pre-drilled, so pendant cables can be threaded through without needing to modify the canopy on site. The white finish hides against white or light-coloured ceilings, keeping visual focus on the pendant lights themselves rather than the mounting hardware.

Frequently Asked

How many ceiling outlets are needed?

Only one ceiling outlet is required, positioned centrally beneath the canopy. All electrical connections are made inside the canopy housing, with individual pendant cables running to each of the five exit points.

What spacing do the five cable exits have?

The cable exits are evenly spaced along the 1200mm length. This typically results in approximately 250-300mm spacing between pendant drop points, though the exact spacing depends on the size of the exit apertures and edge margins built into the canopy design.

Can fewer than five pendants be used?

Yes. The canopy supports up to five pendants, but you can use fewer by simply leaving unused cable exit points empty. Some installations use three or four pendants depending on the length of the surface being lit.

Does it work with all pendant types?

The canopy works with any pendant light that has a standard cable and ceiling rose connection. Check that the combined weight of your chosen pendants does not exceed the canopy's load rating, particularly if using heavy glass or metal shades.
