The Glacia is a 90mm black metal ceiling rose designed for single pendant lights, with a magnetic attachment system that allows the pendant cable to be removed and reconnected without rewiring the ceiling fitting. The rose mounts to a standard UK ceiling plate and the magnetic connector clips into the base, creating a secure electrical connection that can be disengaged by pulling the pendant downward with moderate force.

Designed for pendants that need to be repositioned, cleaned or swapped out regularly, the Glacia suits modern domestic interiors, hospitality spaces and retail environments where lighting configurations change seasonally. The magnetic system works with compatible Ideal Lux pendants and other manufacturers' fittings that use a matching magnetic connector specification. The 90mm diameter keeps the rose compact enough to sit flush against most ceilings without dominating the visual field around a pendant. The matt black powder-coated metal finish pairs cleanly with industrial, minimalist and contemporary interiors, and the low-profile design suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above where the rose itself remains secondary to the pendant below. What pendants is the Glacia compatible with?

The Glacia works with Ideal Lux pendants that carry a matching magnetic connector. Some third-party pendants also use compatible magnetic systems, but compatibility should be confirmed before purchase. The rose itself does not include the pendant or cable.

Can the pendant be removed without turning off the mains?

No. The mains supply to the ceiling rose should be switched off before disconnecting or reconnecting a pendant, even though the magnetic system allows physical separation of the fitting. This is standard electrical safety practice.

What weight can the magnetic connection support?

The magnetic connection is designed to support typical single-bulb pendant weights. Heavier multi-bulb chandeliers or large glass shades may exceed the magnetic hold strength and should use a traditional ceiling rose with mechanical fixings instead.
