Description

The Hinkley Gentry is a 354mm diameter pendant lantern housing six E14 candle bulbs inside a cylindrical frame of curved clear glass panels set in an antique nickel metal structure. The six individual candle sleeves sit on white candle tubes with antique nickel chasers, arranged in a circular cluster at the centre of the lantern. The clear glass allows light to radiate in all directions while the curved panels create subtle refraction patterns on surrounding walls and ceilings.

Designed for entrance halls, dining rooms and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Gentry lantern provides both ambient and decorative lighting. The 637mm fitting height works over a dining table when hung with a 700-900mm clearance above the surface, or as an entrance hall feature at 1800-2100mm above floor level. The drop is adjustable on installation from 738mm minimum to 3810mm maximum, accommodating both standard and double-height spaces. The antique nickel finish carries a brushed pewter tone that pairs with traditional, transitional and contemporary interiors.

The lantern frame uses curved glass panels rather than flat panes, giving the fitting a softer silhouette than typical rectangular hall lanterns. Each glass panel is held in a metal channel that runs the full height of the lantern body, with ball feet supporting the base ring. The top ring connects to a curved suspension arm and chain, with the canopy sitting flush to the ceiling rose. At 354mm diameter the Gentry sits between smaller 250mm hall lanterns and larger 500mm statement pieces, making it suited to 3-4m wide dining tables or entrance halls of 2-3m width.
