Description
The Frost is a 40cm wood wall light with an integrated 13W 3000K LED, housed in a rectangular body made from natural light brown wood with a matt black painted metal base. The opal polycarbonate diffuser on the underside spreads warm white light evenly along the length of the fitting, making it functional as both ambient and task lighting.
Designed for hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and home offices, the Frost mounts horizontally on the wall with an 80mm projection from the surface. The wood body adds textural warmth to contemporary, Scandinavian and mid-century interiors, while the matt black base provides visual weight and contrast. The 400mm length suits positioning above bedside tables, flanking bathroom mirrors, or running in series along corridors where multiple fittings create continuous wash lighting.
The wood used in the Frost body is light brown beech with a natural grain that varies between individual pieces depending on the section of timber cut. The opal polycarbonate diffuser hides the LED strip inside and prevents direct glare, so the light reads as a soft glow rather than visible point sources. The IP20 rating limits the Frost to dry indoor locations only — it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.
The integrated LED is rated at 13W with a 3000K colour temperature, producing approximately 1,040 lumens across the 40cm length. The LED is not user-replaceable, but the fitting carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux covering the LED module and driver. The Frost is not dimmable and operates on 230V mains via a transparent PVC cable concealed behind the mount.

Frequently Asked
Is the Frost dimmable?
No. The integrated LED operates at a fixed 13W output on 230V mains and is not compatible with dimmer switches.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The Frost carries an IP20 rating, meaning it is suitable only for dry indoor locations. For bathroom use, a fitting with an IP44 rating or higher is required.
Does the wood grain vary between pieces?
Yes. Each Frost is made from natural beech, so the grain pattern, tone and figure differ depending on the section of timber used. This is a characteristic of natural wood, not a manufacturing defect.
How is the light fitted to the wall?
The Frost mounts horizontally via a metal backplate concealed inside the body. The fitting connects to standard UK mains wiring, and the transparent PVC cable runs behind the mount. Professional installation is recommended.
