Description

The Franklin is a 300mm pendant light with a spun metal shade in a soft green gloss finish, suspended on a black flex cord from a matching green ceiling rose. The shade is shaped in the classic American diner style with a deep dome profile and ventilation slots at the top, housing a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately).

Designed to hang over kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and cafe counters, the Franklin casts focused downward light from a height of 700-900mm above the work surface. The 2150mm cord is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to be set to the correct height for the ceiling position. The metal shade directs light downwards while the ventilation slots allow heat to escape from the bulb chamber.

The soft green finish provides a mid-century accent that pairs with both period kitchens and contemporary spaces seeking retro character. The spun metal construction gives the shade a smooth, continuous curve without visible seams or joints. When paired in a row of two or three pendants over a longer island or counter, the Franklin creates evenly-spaced task lighting without the need for recessed ceiling fittings.

The Franklin uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen and dining use.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The 2150mm cord is adjustable on installation only. Once the pendant is wired and the ceiling rose fitted, the drop is fixed. Plan the final height before installation based on your ceiling height and the surface below.

For a kitchen island or dining table, the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface. This works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The minimum drop of 299mm suits lower ceilings where the pendant needs to sit closer to the ceiling rose.

Yes. The Franklin works well in groups of two or three over longer kitchen islands or counters. Space pendants 600-900mm apart along the length of the island for even task lighting coverage.
