Description

The Franceasi is a 457mm outdoor wall lantern from Kichler with an olde bronze finish and amber-tinted glass panels behind decorative metalwork inspired by Gothic tracery. The single E27 fitting accepts bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), and the IP44 rating protects the internal components against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.

Designed for covered porches, porch sides flanking doorways, garage sides and courtyard walls where shelter from direct rainfall is provided, the lantern casts warm light through the amber-tinted glass while the decorative metalwork projects shadow patterns onto adjacent walls. The 178mm width and 229mm projection suit most residential wall mounting scenarios without overwhelming the architecture. The stepped top and base echo Art Deco and early 20th-century civic lighting design.

The olde bronze finish is a multi-tonal dark brown with hand-applied patina that varies slightly across the surface, giving the appearance of aged metal rather than a uniform factory coating. The amber glass is textured on the inner surface to diffuse the light source and reduce glare when viewed from below. The metalwork frame is die-cast aluminium with a powder-coat finish that resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments.
