Description

The Fort Smart Alarm Kit 2 is a wireless burglar alarm system combining Wi-Fi and GSM connectivity, built around a smart hub with a 95dB siren, two PIR motion sensors, one door/window magnetic contact and a keyfob remote control. The hub connects to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for app-based control and monitoring, with optional GSM backup via a user-supplied SIM card for notification redundancy if the broadband connection drops.

Designed for home and small business installation where existing wired alarm cabling is not present, the system uses 433MHz wireless transmission with an 80-metre open-field range between sensors and hub. The hub supports up to 32 wireless devices, allowing expansion with additional PIR sensors, door contacts, smoke detectors and keyfobs from the Fort range. Arming, disarming, zone monitoring and alert notifications are controlled via the Fort app on iOS or Android, with no monthly subscription or monitoring fees.

The hub houses a built-in rechargeable battery providing up to 8 hours of standby time during mains power loss, and the 95dB internal siren activates on intrusion detection. Each PIR sensor and door contact runs on batteries (included), removing the need for mains wiring at sensor locations. The two PIRs detect motion within their coverage zone and the magnetic contact triggers when a door or window is opened while the system is armed. The keyfob remote provides one-touch arming and disarming without needing to open the app.

Does the system require a monthly subscription?

No. The Fort Smart Alarm operates entirely through the Fort app with no subscription or monitoring fees. Wi-Fi connectivity is built into the hub, and GSM backup is optional if you insert a SIM card (not included).

What's included in Kit 2?

The kit contains one smart hub with built-in 95dB siren, two PIR motion sensors, one magnetic door/window contact sensor, one keyfob remote control, and batteries for the wireless sensors. A SIM card for GSM backup is not included.

Can I add more sensors later?

Yes. The hub supports up to 32 wireless devices on the 433MHz frequency. Additional Fort-compatible PIR sensors, door contacts, smoke detectors and keyfobs can be added and paired through the app.

What Wi-Fi does it need?

The hub connects to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. It does not support 5GHz networks. Most domestic routers broadcast both frequencies, so ensure your router's 2.4GHz band is enabled during setup.
