Description

The Focus S is a 52mm diameter surface mounted downlight with a black aluminium cylindrical body and a fixed GU10 lampholder. The 100mm height projects from the ceiling to direct light downward in a controlled beam, making it suitable for accent lighting over kitchen worktops, highlighting artwork, or providing task light in hallways and home offices where recessed downlights are not practical.

Surface mounted downlights fit directly to the ceiling surface without requiring a ceiling void or cut-out, so they work in solid concrete ceilings, timber ceilings with minimal void depth, and situations where existing recessed lights cannot be installed. The Focus S wires into standard UK mains via the ceiling rose and the cylindrical body conceals the connection. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 bulb up to 10W (sold separately), giving control over beam angle, colour temperature and dimmability depending on the bulb chosen.

The black powder-coated aluminium finish provides a neutral backdrop in monochrome, industrial and contemporary interiors, and the compact 52mm diameter keeps the fitting visually unobtrusive when multiple units are installed in a row or grid. The IP20 rating limits the Focus S to dry indoor environments — it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or anywhere exposed to moisture. No. The IP20 rating means the downlight is not protected against moisture and must only be installed in dry indoor environments away from direct water contact or high humidity.

What ceiling fixing is needed?
