Description

The Maytoni Focus is a 12W LED surface-mounted downlight with a cylindrical white aluminium body and an integrated 3000K LED. The downlight mounts directly to a ceiling without recessing, making it suitable for solid ceilings, shallow ceiling voids, or installations where cutting into the structure is not possible. The 50° beam angle directs light downwards in a controlled cone rather than flooding the space.

Designed for residential and commercial spaces where ceiling height is limited or where recessed fittings cannot be installed, the Focus works as accent lighting over worktops, in hallways, in retail displays, or in offices with concrete or timber ceilings. The 125mm projection from the ceiling provides enough clearance for the LED driver and heat dissipation without dominating the sightline. The white finish blends with white or light-painted ceilings while the black internal reflector ring frames the light aperture and reduces glare when viewed from an angle.

The aluminium body conducts heat away from the 12W LED, which sits behind a honeycomb anti-glare louvre at the base of the cylinder. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations. The downlight runs on AC 165-265V mains, making it compatible with standard UK electrical installations without requiring a separate transformer. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light that works in both residential and hospitality settings.

Can this be installed on a sloped or angled ceiling?

No. The Focus is designed for horizontal ceiling mounting only. The fixed downward orientation means it cannot be angled to compensate for a sloped surface.

What ceiling thickness or type does it suit?

The downlight mounts to any solid ceiling surface capable of supporting the weight — plasterboard on battens, timber joists, or concrete. The mounting plate fixes with screws into the ceiling structure and the mains cable is routed through a small aperture in the mounting plate.

Is it dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 12W on AC 165-265V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Focus to dry indoor locations away from direct moisture. For bathrooms, use a downlight with an IP44 or IP65 rating.
