Description

The Flairix is a 79mm square recessed downlight moulded from white plaster, designed to sit flush with the ceiling once installed. The housing accepts a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) and includes perforated metal spring clips on opposing sides that grip the ceiling void once the fitting is pushed into place. The white plaster finish can be painted over to match the ceiling colour, making the downlight nearly invisible when switched off.

Designed for dry indoor locations including living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and offices, the Flairix provides focused downward illumination in a minimal 55mm ceiling void depth. The square 79mm aperture allows broader light spread than circular downlights of the same wattage, reducing the number of fittings needed to light a given floor area. The IP20 rating limits use to dry rooms only — bathrooms and wet rooms require higher IP ratings.

The plaster construction absorbs and diffuses some of the direct glare from the GU10 bulb, giving a softer light quality than bare metal housings. Dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 LED bulb and a trailing-edge dimmer. The spring-clip mounting means no visible screws or bezels once installed, leaving only the square plaster frame and the recessed bulb visible from below. Each fitting weighs approximately 180g and ships with a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux.
