The Flairix is a 78mm round recessed downlight cast from white plaster with a GU10 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately). The plaster body sits flush with the ceiling once installed, leaving only the circular bezel and central reflector visible from below. The white plaster finish can be painted over to match the ceiling colour, making the fitting disappear entirely into plasterboard or render.

Designed for living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and kitchens where recessed downlighting is needed without visible housing or trim rings projecting below the ceiling line, the Flairix requires a 53mm ceiling void depth for installation. The fitting works with standard GU10 LED bulbs, allowing you to choose the colour temperature (warm white, neutral, cool white) and beam angle that suits the room. Dimmable GU10 bulbs pair with compatible dimmer switches to adjust light levels from full task brightness down to low ambient.

The plaster material gives the fitting a solid 78mm x 78mm x 53mm construction that sits securely in the ceiling cut-out without rattling or shifting once fixed. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas, excluding bathrooms and wet rooms. The perforated metal spring clips visible in the image grip the edges of the ceiling void, holding the downlight in place without needing additional fixings or screws visible from below.

Yes. The white plaster finish accepts emulsion and most ceiling paints, allowing the fitting to be painted over to match the ceiling colour and blend in completely once installed.

What ceiling depth is needed for installation?

The fitting requires a 53mm ceiling void depth above the plasterboard or render layer. The metal spring clips grip the ceiling edges to hold the downlight in place without visible fixings.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself supports dimming when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Standard non-dimmable GU10 bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

What bulb is recommended?

Any standard GU10 LED bulb fits the fitting. For living rooms and bedrooms, a warm white (2700K-3000K) LED between 4-6W provides comfortable ambient light. For kitchens and task areas, a neutral white (4000K) LED at 6-8W gives brighter, cooler-toned light.
