Description

The ESP PTZ IP Camera Controller is a desktop control unit for pan-tilt-zoom IP cameras, combining a programmable button keyboard, a 3-axis joystick and an integrated LCD display in a single 1.5kg housing. The controller connects to IP PTZ cameras over a network, allowing operators to adjust camera position, zoom and focus without accessing the camera software interface on a PC.

Designed for CCTV monitoring stations, security control rooms and AV installations where multiple PTZ cameras need manual control, the unit supports standard ONVIF and proprietary PTZ protocols. The LCD display shows camera status, preset positions and configuration menus during programming. The joystick provides proportional pan-tilt control with adjustable speed response, while the dedicated zoom and focus buttons allow fine adjustment during live viewing.

The controller accepts power via either 12V DC input or Power over Ethernet (PoE), removing the need for a separate mains adapter when connected to a PoE-enabled network switch. The button layout provides quick access to preset positions, menu navigation and camera switching where multiple cameras are configured on the network. The unit measures approximately 300mm wide and sits comfortably on a desk or control surface without occupying excessive space.

Frequently Asked

What camera protocols does it support?

The controller supports standard ONVIF protocols for IP PTZ cameras plus proprietary protocols from major manufacturers. Check the Product Manual in the Downloads tab for the full compatibility list and configuration instructions for your specific camera model.

Can it control multiple cameras?

Yes. The controller can be configured to switch between multiple IP PTZ cameras on the same network, with preset positions stored per camera. The exact number of cameras supported depends on network configuration and camera compatibility.

Does it need a separate power supply if using PoE?

No. When connected to a PoE-enabled network switch, the controller draws power over the Ethernet cable and does not require the 12V DC input. If your network switch does not support PoE, use a 12V DC adapter (sold separately).

What's the joystick control range?

The 3-axis joystick provides proportional pan-tilt control with adjustable speed response, meaning faster joystick movement produces faster camera movement. The third axis typically controls zoom or focus depending on configuration. Refer to the Product Manual for calibration and sensitivity adjustment.
