Description

The ESP Large Deep Camera Base is a 145mm square metal junction box designed to house cable connections for ESP HDview 4 megapixel dome and bullet cameras. The IP66-rated enclosure provides weatherproof protection for cable terminations in outdoor installations, with a 25mm cable entry gland on the base and 53mm internal depth to accommodate standard connectors and looped cable.

Designed for wall or soffit mounting, the base sits behind HDview cameras including the SHDVC622VFBG (6-22mm varifocal bullet), SHDVC550VFBG (5-50mm varifocal bullet), and SHDVC2812VFDG (2.8-12mm varifocal dome). The grey powder-coated metal finish matches ESP's standard camera housing colours and resists corrosion in exterior conditions. The 145mm footprint provides sufficient mounting area for cameras with bases up to 130mm diameter.

The IP66 rating protects against dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, making the base suitable for exposed positions including building corners, soffits, and open-structure areas where cable runs need to be concealed and protected. The metal construction provides rigidity for heavy varifocal cameras without flexing under adjustment. At 620g net weight, the base adds minimal load to the mounting surface while providing substantial protection for the cable terminations behind the camera.

Frequently Asked

What cameras is this base compatible with?

The base is designed for ESP HDview 4 megapixel cameras including the SHDVC622VFBG (6-22mm varifocal bullet), SHDVC550VFBG (5-50mm varifocal bullet), and SHDVC2812VFDG (2.8-12mm varifocal dome). It suits cameras with base diameters up to 130mm.

What does IP66 rating mean?

IP66 means the enclosure is fully dust-tight (IP6X) and protected against high-pressure water jets from any direction (IPX6). This makes it suitable for exposed outdoor installations including soffits, building corners, and open structures.

How is the cable entry sealed?

The base includes a 25mm cable entry gland on the underside. The cable passes through the gland, which is tightened around the cable sheath to maintain the IP66 seal while allowing the cable into the enclosure.

Can this be used for wall or ceiling mounting?

Yes. The base can be mounted on walls, soffits, or ceilings. The 145mm square footprint provides four corner fixing points and the 53mm depth gives clearance for cable terminations regardless of mounting orientation.
