Description

The ESP HDview is a 5MP IP dome camera with a motorised 2.8-12mm varifocal lens that can be adjusted remotely via software to change the field of view from wide-angle to telephoto without needing to access the camera physically. The 1/2.7-inch image sensor captures 2592 x 1944 resolution video at up to 20fps and the integrated IR illuminators provide visibility up to 40m in complete darkness.

Designed for outdoor and indoor commercial and residential security installations, the camera is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the mounting location. The IP67-rated housing withstands rain, dust and temperature variation between -30°C and 60°C, making it suitable for external wall mounting, canopy mounting under overhangs, or ceiling mounting in protected outdoor areas. The built-in microphone enables audio recording when connected to a compatible NVR.

The grey thermoplastic housing measures 137mm diameter and projects 148mm from the mounting surface once fitted. The dome design provides a 360-degree coverage option when used with the motorised lens at its widest setting, or focused coverage when zoomed to 12mm. The camera supports local recording to a MicroSD card up to 256GB capacity as backup storage independent of the NVR, and is compatible with ESP's 24/7 series network video recorders and ONVIF-compliant third-party systems.

Frequently Asked

How is the varifocal lens adjusted?

The 2.8-12mm lens is motorised and adjusted remotely via the camera's web interface or through the NVR software. This allows the field of view to be changed from wide-angle coverage to zoomed telephoto without physically accessing the camera after installation.

Does the camera require a separate power supply?

No. The camera is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), which delivers both data and power over a single Ethernet cable. A PoE-enabled network switch or PoE injector is required at the network end.

What is the IR night vision range?

The integrated IR illuminators provide visibility up to 40m in complete darkness. Actual range depends on ambient light levels, mounting height, and the lens zoom setting — a zoomed-in telephoto view concentrates the IR beam further than a wide-angle setting.

Can audio be recorded?

Yes. The camera has a built-in microphone. Audio recording capability depends on the connected NVR supporting audio input — check your NVR's specifications to confirm compatibility before relying on audio recording.
