Description

The ESP BBG1 is a deep-base junction box designed for IP bullet cameras, cast from aluminium with a grey powder-coated finish. The box provides a concealed housing for cable connections and back-of-camera wiring when mounting bullet cameras to exterior walls, soffits or ceiling surfaces where cable runs cannot be recessed into the structure.

The 25mm cable entry gland accepts standard outdoor-rated Cat5e, Cat6 or coaxial cables used in IP camera installations, with an internal depth of 63mm providing clearance for RJ45 connectors, PoE injectors and cable slack. The four screw-fixed mounting points on the faceplate align with the fixing holes on compatible ESP bullet cameras including the RC228FBG, HC528FBG and HC828FBG models, allowing the camera body to mount directly over the junction box and conceal it from view.

The aluminium construction provides weather resistance for outdoor installations and the grey finish blends with most render, concrete and painted masonry surfaces without requiring additional finishing. The box measures 122mm long by 114mm wide, giving a low-profile footprint when the camera is mounted over it. The screw-fixed cover plate allows access to internal wiring for maintenance or camera replacement without removing the entire assembly from the wall.

Frequently Asked

Which cameras is this junction box compatible with?

The BBG1 is designed for ESP bullet cameras including the RC228FBG, HC528FBG and HC828FBG models. The four-point mounting pattern on the faceplate aligns with the base fixing holes on these cameras, allowing them to mount directly over the box.

What cable diameter does the entry gland accept?

The 25mm cable entry gland accepts standard outdoor-rated Cat5e, Cat6 and coaxial cables used in IP camera installations. The gland provides a weather seal around the cable once tightened.

Can this be used for indoor installations?

Yes. The junction box is designed primarily for outdoor use but works equally well indoors where surface-mounted cable runs are needed and cannot be recessed into walls or ceilings.

Is the box weatherproof?

The aluminium construction and powder-coated finish provide weather resistance for outdoor installations. Once the camera is mounted over the box and the cable gland is tightened, the assembly protects internal connections from moisture ingress.
