Description

The ESP Beacon is an assist call alert module with a high-volume sounder and integrated LED indication panel, mounted on a brushed stainless steel faceplate. The module is designed to be paired with assist call pull cords or push buttons in accessible toilets, changing rooms and care settings, sounding an audible alert and illuminating the LED panel when triggered. The unit meets BS8300 requirements for accessible building design.

Designed for installation in public and commercial accessible toilet facilities, care homes, hospitals and assisted living environments, the Beacon can be flush-mounted into a 1-gang UK mounting box or surface-mounted using a separate surface box (mounting box not included). The brushed stainless steel faceplate provides a durable, wipe-clean surface that resists corrosion in high-humidity bathroom environments.

The sounder produces a high-volume alert audible outside the immediate room, allowing staff or carers to respond when the assist call is triggered. The LED panel remains illuminated until the alert is manually reset, allowing staff approaching from a corridor or adjacent area to identify which room has called for assistance. The 130mm x 110mm faceplate mounts using standard UK 1-gang fixings and the module is compatible with standard assist call wiring systems.

Frequently Asked

What is the Beacon compatible with?

The Beacon is designed to work with assist call pull cords and push buttons that form part of a standard assist call wiring system. It receives a trigger signal from the pull cord or button and activates the sounder and LED indication when called.

Does it require a mounting box?

Yes. The Beacon can be flush-mounted into a standard 1-gang UK mounting box or surface-mounted using a 1-gang surface box. The mounting box is not included and must be purchased separately.

How is the alert reset?

The LED indication remains illuminated and the sounder continues until the alert is manually reset, typically using a reset button or switch integrated into the assist call system. This ensures staff know which room has called for assistance even if they arrive after the initial alert.

Is it suitable for wet environments?

The brushed stainless steel faceplate is corrosion-resistant and wipe-clean, making it suitable for installation in accessible toilet facilities and other high-humidity environments. However, the unit is not IP-rated for direct water exposure and should not be installed in shower zones.
