Description

The ESP 4MP AHD dome camera pairs a 4-megapixel AHD sensor with a 3.6mm fixed lens, giving a 76° horizontal viewing angle suited to monitoring doorways, driveways, shop entrances and small car parks. Built-in infrared LEDs provide up to 25m night vision, allowing the camera to capture monochrome footage in complete darkness. The IP66-rated metal housing protects the camera from rain and dust, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation.

Designed for use with AHD DVR recorders, the camera transmits video over standard coaxial cable (RG59 or similar) and requires a separate 12V DC power supply. Digital Wide Dynamic Range (D-WDR) with Adaptive Tone Reproduction (ATR) balances exposure in scenes with both bright and shadowed areas, such as doorways backlit by sunlight. High Light Compensation reduces glare from vehicle headlights and streetlights, while 2D and 3D noise reduction improve image clarity in low-light conditions.

The dome measures 128mm diameter by 127mm height, with a low-profile design that sits close to walls and ceilings without protruding significantly. The metal housing adds durability in exposed locations, and the white finish blends with white soffits, render and uPVC trim. The camera weighs 400g, light enough to mount on standard CCTV brackets without additional support.

This is an AHD camera, so it requires an AHD-compatible DVR. It will not work with IP network recorders or analogue CVBS-only DVRs. Most modern hybrid DVRs support AHD alongside other formats.

What's the viewing angle and recommended distance?

The 3.6mm lens provides a 76° horizontal viewing angle. At 5m distance the camera captures approximately 7m width, making it suitable for single doorways, small shop entrances and residential driveways. For wider coverage a 2.8mm lens variant would be needed.

Does it record audio?

No. This camera is video-only and does not have a microphone or audio input. Audio recording would require a separate microphone connected to the DVR if the recorder supports it.

Can it be mounted outdoors in all weather?

Yes. The IP66 rating means the camera is protected against rain, snow and dust. The metal housing adds durability in exposed locations. For coastal or industrial environments with corrosive atmospheres, periodic cleaning of the dome cover is recommended to maintain image clarity.
