Description

The English Bridle is a 737mm outdoor wall lantern with four E14 candle bulb fittings behind clear seeded glass, housed in a black powder-coated metal frame. The lantern combines a curved scroll wall bracket with a cage-style frame and domed top finial, inspired by traditional English manor house architecture from the Georgian and Victorian periods.

Designed for external wall mounting on porches, entranceways, garage sides and garden pathways, the IP44 rating provides protection against rain and dust exposure typical of UK outdoor conditions. The 394mm projection from the wall means the lantern sits forward of typical door architraves and provides downward and outward light coverage across a 2-3m radius depending on bulb choice. The clear seeded glass includes small air bubbles within the panes, creating a textured surface that softens direct bulb glare while retaining the candle flame silhouette when lit.

The black finish is applied as a powder coat over die-cast metal components, giving corrosion resistance in coastal and high-moisture environments. The frame includes decorative pierced metalwork beneath the glass dome and turned detailing on the finial and lower stem. Each of the four E14 sockets accepts bulbs up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose LED candle bulbs between 4-6W for ambient lighting or higher-output options up to the maximum for brighter task coverage. Can it be mounted on a rendered or brick wall?

Is the seeded glass clear or frosted?

The glass is clear with a seeded texture created by small air bubbles within the panes. This gives a rippled, vintage appearance while remaining transparent enough to show the candle bulb shapes when lit. It is not frosted or sandblasted.
