Description

The Emberlyte is a 20cm diameter glass pendant light with a smoked grey globe and a polished chrome canopy at the top. A single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) sits suspended inside the globe on a short drop holder, visible through the translucent glass. The cable runs up through the canopy on a fixed drop, concealing the electrical run to the ceiling rose.

Designed for kitchens, dining tables and hallways where soft diffused light is needed without harsh glare, the smoked glass softens the light output from the bare bulb while still showing the filament shape when fitted with a decorative LED or vintage-style bulb. The pendant sits 180mm tall from canopy to the base of the globe, making it suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights when hung over a worktop or table at the typical 700-800mm clearance.

The grey-tinted glass gives the pendant a contemporary edge compared to clear glass equivalents, filtering warm light into a softer, cooler tone that pairs well with grey, white and concrete interiors. The chrome canopy and holder inside the globe reflect light back down through the glass, increasing the spread. The dimmable rating allows the pendant to be paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable E27 LED bulb for adjustable brightness.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is suitable for dry indoor areas only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoors where moisture is present.

How is the smoked glass cleaned?

Wipe the glass globe with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water or a standard glass cleaner, then dry immediately. Avoid soaking the chrome canopy or bulb holder.
