Description
The Ember is a 275mm LED wall light with an integrated 17W LED producing 4000K neutral-white light through two parallel horizontal bars in a white powder-coated metal finish. The dual-bar arrangement directs light both upward and downward along the wall, creating a wash effect that highlights texture and provides ambient illumination without glare.
Designed for hallways, staircases, bathrooms and office corridors, the Ember sits 100mm proud of the wall and fits standard UK wiring back boxes. The 4000K colour temperature delivers a crisp, neutral-white light that sits between warm yellow and cool blue, making it suitable for task-oriented environments where colour accuracy matters — bathrooms for grooming, hallways for seeing belongings clearly, and offices for working under consistent light. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments away from direct water contact.
The white finish provides a clean backdrop that works across contemporary, Scandinavian and minimalist interiors without introducing warm or cool metallic tones. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, which translates to roughly 10 years at 7 hours daily operation. The metal construction and simple geometry mean the fitting requires minimal maintenance beyond occasional dusting.
Ideal Lux backs the Ember with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and LED failure. The fitting weighs approximately 0.8kg and mounts directly to a standard wall box using two fixing screws concealed behind the cover plate once installed.

Frequently Asked
Can the Ember be used in a bathroom?
The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry indoor areas away from direct water contact. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2 (within 60cm of a shower, bath or basin). It can be used in bathrooms outside these zones, typically on walls away from water sources.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced by the end user. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours, which equates to around 10 years of typical use at 7 hours per day.
What colour temperature is 4000K?
4000K is neutral white, sitting between warm yellow (2700K-3000K) and cool blue-white (5000K-6500K). It provides crisp, clear light that works well in task-oriented spaces like hallways, bathrooms and offices where colour accuracy matters.
How is the Ember mounted?
The fitting mounts to a standard UK wall box using two fixing screws that are concealed once the cover plate is in place. The 100mm projection means the fitting sits proud of the wall and requires clearance for the dual-bar design.
