Description

The Eclipsa is a 90mm square surface-mounted downlight with a white metal body housing a single GU10 bulb fitting. The fitting mounts directly to the ceiling surface without recessing, making it suitable for ceilings with shallow void depths or solid construction where cutting a recess is impractical. The square profile measures 90mm on each side with approximately 90mm projection below the ceiling plane.

Designed for hallways, utility rooms, bathrooms (dry zones only — IP20 rating), kitchens and retail spaces where directional task lighting is needed without recessing into the ceiling structure, the Eclipsa pairs a clean white finish with a recessed black lampholder surround that frames the GU10 bulb. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 LED bulb and dimmer switch, allowing light levels to be adjusted from full output down to low ambient levels.

The metal construction provides durability in high-traffic areas and the white finish integrates cleanly with white or light-painted ceilings, making the fitting less visually obtrusive than black or metallic alternatives. The 5-year warranty covers manufacturing defects and component failure under normal residential or light commercial use. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to the maximum wattage stated in the lamp holder (bulb sold separately).

Does this fitting require a ceiling recess?

No. The Eclipsa is surface-mounted, meaning it fixes directly to the ceiling surface without cutting a hole. This makes it suitable for solid ceilings, shallow voids, or situations where recessing is impractical.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry zones in bathrooms only — areas outside the designated splash zones around baths and showers. It is not suitable for use directly above a bath, shower or within zone 1 or zone 2.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately). Most users pair this with a GU10 LED between 3-7W and 3000K-4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is preferred.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all GU10 LEDs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer.
