Description

The Eclipsa is a 150mm diameter round surface-mounted downlight in white powder-coated metal with a single GU10 bulb fitting. The cylindrical body projects approximately 110mm from the ceiling, housing a black-rimmed reflector that directs light downward while the white exterior maintains a clean visual line against white or light-coloured ceilings.

Designed for rooms where recessed downlights cannot be installed due to shallow ceiling voids or concrete construction, the Eclipsa surface-mounts directly to the ceiling with no recess cutting required. The fitting suits hallways, kitchens, home offices, bathrooms (dry zones only at IP20), and commercial spaces needing directional accent or task lighting. The white finish integrates into white ceilings without visual interruption, while the downward beam creates focused pools of light on work surfaces, artwork, or floor areas below.

The metal construction provides structural rigidity and heat dissipation for the GU10 lamp inside. The fitting is compatible with dimmable GU10 LED bulbs (sold separately), allowing light levels to be adjusted via a compatible dimmer switch. The black reflector ring around the lamp aperture reduces glare when viewed from an angle and increases contrast between the light source and the white housing. At 150mm diameter the Eclipsa sits proportionally in 2.4-2.7m ceiling heights without dominating smaller rooms.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits the Eclipsa to dry zones only (Zone 3 in UK bathroom zoning, at least 600mm from water sources). It is not suitable for directly above baths, showers, or basin splash zones.
