Description

The Dynamics is a single pendant light built around a corrugated matt gold aluminium cylinder suspended inside a clear glass outer tube. The inner cylinder houses a single GU10 downlight fitting (bulb sold separately), directing light downwards through the base while the corrugated aluminium surface reflects light laterally within the glass enclosure. The matt gold canopy and adjustable cable allow drops from approximately 30cm up to the maximum 170cm.

Designed for installation over kitchen islands, dining tables, bar counters and reception desks, the pendant works where focused task light is needed with a decorative accent. The 8cm diameter keeps the fitting compact enough for narrower surfaces, while the 32cm overall length provides sufficient visual presence when hung 70-80cm above a worktop or table. The clear glass outer protects the inner fitting and diffuses reflected light without significantly reducing downward light output.

The corrugated texture on the matt gold aluminium gives the inner cylinder a mechanical, industrial character that contrasts with the smooth clear glass tube. The fitting weighs approximately 1.2kg with the glass installed and mounts to standard UK ceiling roses via the cylindrical gold canopy. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior locations only. The GU10 base accepts LED, halogen or CFL bulbs up to 50W, giving flexibility to choose colour temperature and beam angle based on the application.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single GU10 bulb up to 50W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a GU10 LED between 4-7W in either 3000K warm white for dining or 4000K neutral white for task lighting over kitchen islands.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The cable is adjustable on installation from approximately 30cm minimum up to the maximum 170cm stated drop. The height is set during fitting and is not easily adjustable afterwards without partially dismantling the pendant.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not splash-proof and must only be installed in dry interior locations away from direct water contact. For bathrooms, an IP44 or higher rated fitting is required.

What beam angle works best?

For dining or bar counter use, a 38-40 degree beam GU10 gives a focused pool of light on the surface below. For broader ambient lighting in a hallway or over a wider island, a 60-120 degree wide-beam GU10 spreads light more evenly.
