Description

The Duceri is a 3W LED non-maintained emergency downlight kit with a white aluminium bezel, designed to provide 3 hours of emergency illumination at 105 lumens when mains power fails. Non-maintained operation means the LED only activates during a power cut, remaining off under normal mains supply. The kit includes the LED downlight module, remote driver unit with integrated 3.6V 1800mAh Ni-Cd battery, and wiring harness.

Designed for corridors, stairwells, escape routes and areas requiring BS 5266 emergency lighting compliance, the downlight mounts into a standard recessed ceiling aperture. The driver unit sits above the ceiling void and monitors mains supply continuously, charging the battery and switching to emergency mode automatically when mains is lost. A green LED indicator on the driver confirms the battery is charged and the system is ready.

The 5500K colour temperature produces a cool daylight-white output that maintains visibility during evacuation. The aluminium bezel carries an IP20 rating, suitable for dry internal areas but not bathrooms or outdoor locations. The unit is certified to BS EN 60598-2-22 for emergency lighting luminaires. Total weight including driver and battery is 0.32kg net, 0.38kg packaged.

Frequently Asked

What does non-maintained mean?

Non-maintained emergency lighting only operates when mains power fails. Under normal mains supply the LED remains off. This differs from maintained emergency lights which run continuously as normal lighting and switch to battery backup during power loss.

How long does the battery last during a power cut?

The 3.6V 1800mAh Ni-Cd battery provides 3 hours of emergency illumination at 105 lumens output. This meets the minimum 3-hour duration required by BS 5266 for most escape route applications.

Where should the driver unit be located?

The driver unit with integrated battery sits above the ceiling void, connected to the downlight module via the wiring harness. Allow sufficient void depth for the driver housing and ensure it remains accessible for future battery replacement.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the downlight is only suitable for dry internal areas. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher for zones 1 and 2, and IP65 for zone 0.
