Description
The Duceri is a 3W LED maintained emergency exit sign with a downward-pointing arrow legend, housed in a chrome-finished steel enclosure. The maintained mode means the sign stays illuminated at all times when connected to mains power, switching to battery backup during power failures. The SMD 2835 LED array provides 5500K cool white light visible from up to 25 metres, with a green indicator LED confirming the unit is charging and operational.
Designed for commercial, industrial and public building installation, the sign mounts to walls above exit routes, stairwells and final exit doors where building regulations require clear egress signage. The 3.6V 1500mAh Ni-Cd battery provides a minimum 3-hour emergency duration during mains failure, meeting BS EN 60598-2-22 standards for emergency lighting. The unit includes charge and discharge protection circuitry to extend battery life and prevent over-discharge damage.
The chrome steel housing measures 390 x 190 x 60mm and weighs 1.3kg, providing a robust enclosure that resists impact in high-traffic areas. The front panel is flush with the housing, preventing dust accumulation and making the legend easy to clean. The down arrow legend directs building occupants towards lower levels, stairwells or ground-floor exits.

Frequently Asked
What does maintained mode mean?
Maintained mode means the LED sign stays illuminated continuously when connected to mains power. During a power failure, the unit automatically switches to battery backup and continues to operate for a minimum of 3 hours. This differs from non-maintained signs, which only illuminate during power failures.
What is the viewing distance?
The sign is visible from up to 25 metres under normal lighting conditions. This makes it suitable for larger spaces such as warehouse aisles, reception areas and long corridors where occupants need clear exit direction from a distance.
How is the battery maintained?
The Ni-Cd battery charges automatically when the unit is connected to mains power. The green indicator LED confirms the battery is charging and operational. The unit includes charge and discharge protection to prevent battery damage. Battery replacement is typically needed every 3-5 years depending on usage and discharge frequency.
Does it comply with UK building regulations?
Yes. The sign meets BS EN 60598-2-22 standards for emergency lighting, which is the UK standard referenced in building regulations for commercial and public buildings. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local fire safety and building control requirements.
