Description
The Duceri 3W LED emergency exit sign uses SMD 2835 LEDs behind a green-on-white pictogram showing a running figure and downward arrow, housed in a black steel box measuring 390 x 190 x 60mm. The sign operates in maintained mode, meaning the LEDs remain illuminated during normal mains operation and switch to battery backup during power failure, providing 3 hours of emergency illumination from a 3.6V 1500mAh Ni-Cd battery.
Designed for wall mounting above doors, stairwells and corridor junctions where a downward exit route needs to be indicated, the sign is visible from 25 metres in both normal and emergency lighting conditions. The 5500K colour temperature produces a bright daylight-white light that cuts through smoke and low-visibility conditions. The unit meets BS EN 60598-2-22 standards for emergency lighting and includes charge and discharge protection circuits to extend battery life.
The black steel housing resists impact and corrosion in high-traffic commercial, industrial and public building environments. A green LED indicator on the front of the unit confirms the battery is charging and the sign is ready for emergency operation. The wall-mounted design requires a standard electrical back box connection to 230V mains, with the battery and charging circuitry contained within the 60mm depth of the housing. At 1.3kg net weight, the sign mounts securely to plasterboard, brick or block walls with standard fixings.

Frequently Asked
What is maintained mode?
In maintained mode the LEDs remain illuminated during normal mains operation and during power failure. This differs from non-maintained mode, where the sign only illuminates when mains power is lost. Maintained mode is required in places of assembly, theatres, cinemas and locations where the public may be unfamiliar with exit routes.
How long does the battery last during a power cut?
The 3.6V 1500mAh Ni-Cd battery provides 3 hours of emergency illumination when mains power is lost. This meets the minimum duration required by UK building regulations for most commercial and public buildings.
What does the green LED indicator show?
The green LED confirms the battery is charging and the sign is ready for emergency operation. If the green LED is not illuminated during normal mains operation, the battery may not be charging or the charging circuit may require service.
What viewing distance does the sign cover?
The sign is visible from 25 metres in both normal and emergency lighting conditions. This determines the maximum spacing between signs in a corridor or the maximum distance from the sign to the furthest point in a room where occupants need to identify the exit route.
