Description
The Duceri is a 3W LED emergency bulkhead in maintained mode, built into a white polycarbonate housing measuring 360mm x 118mm x 65mm. The IP65 rating seals the unit against dust and low-pressure water jets, allowing installation in damp corridors, stairwells, covered walkways and above external fire exits. A lithium battery inside provides backup power during mains failure, keeping the LEDs lit to guide building occupants to exits.
Designed for commercial, industrial and public building compliance with UK fire safety regulations, the Duceri operates in maintained mode, which means the LEDs stay on continuously when mains power is present and switch to battery power automatically during an outage. The polycarbonate diffuser spreads light evenly across a 2-3m corridor width without glare, and the white housing sits flush against ceilings or walls depending on the mounting orientation chosen during installation.
The fitting weighs 0.6kg net and mounts to a standard ceiling rose or wall bracket using the two fixing points at either end of the housing. The ribbed polycarbonate diffuser reduces impact from accidental knocks and resists yellowing under prolonged LED exposure. The lithium battery chemistry offers longer cycle life and faster recharge compared to older nickel-cadmium emergency lighting batteries, with lower self-discharge when the fitting is not in regular use.

Frequently Asked
What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained mode?
Maintained mode means the LEDs stay on continuously when mains power is present, and switch to battery backup during a power cut. Non-maintained mode keeps the LEDs off during normal operation and only lights them during a mains failure. The Duceri operates in maintained mode, making it suitable for areas that need permanent lighting as well as emergency guidance.
How long does the battery last during a power cut?
Emergency bulkheads with lithium batteries typically provide 3 hours of backup illumination, which is the UK regulatory minimum for most escape route lighting. Check the Product Specification Sheet in the Downloads tab for the exact runtime specification for this model.
Can it be installed outdoors?
The IP65 rating protects against dust and low-pressure water jets, making the fitting suitable for covered outdoor areas such as sheltered walkways, canopies and recessed porch areas. It is not designed for fully exposed outdoor installation where it would face direct rain or snow accumulation.
How is the battery maintained?
Lithium emergency lighting batteries self-maintain through trickle charging when connected to mains power. No manual intervention is required, though periodic testing of the emergency function (simulating a power cut) is recommended to confirm the battery holds charge and the LEDs illuminate correctly on backup power.
