Description

The Dublin is a single-light bathroom wall light with a pressed glass shade on a polished chrome mount, rated IP44 for use in bathroom zones 2 and 3. The fitting includes a 3W 3000K G9 LED bulb inside the glass shade, which casts warm white light through the horizontal ribbed texture of the glass to soften the beam and reduce glare at eye level.

Designed for vanity lighting, the Dublin mounts 246mm tall and projects 200mm from the wall, positioning the glass shade at a height that works either side of a bathroom mirror or as a pair flanking a shower enclosure. The pressed glass texture breaks up reflections and creates horizontal light striations on adjacent walls, adding visual interest to plain tiles or painted surfaces. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes but does not permit direct spray or submersion.

The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light and brightens smaller bathrooms where natural light is limited. The 165mm width keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow wall sections between mirrors and cabinets. The chrome backplate sits flush against the wall and conceals the fixing screws behind a circular mount. The pressed glass weighs approximately 300g and clips into the chrome collar without exposed metalwork at the join.

Which bathroom zones can this light be used in?

The IP44 rating allows the Dublin to be installed in bathroom zones 2 and 3. Zone 2 covers areas within 60cm of a shower or bath, while zone 3 is anywhere outside zone 2 but still within the bathroom. It cannot be used in zone 0 (inside the shower or bath) or zone 1 (directly above a shower or bath to a height of 2.25m).

Is the bulb replaceable?

Yes. The fitting includes a 3W 3000K G9 LED bulb. If the LED fails, the glass shade lifts off the chrome collar to access the G9 socket, allowing the bulb to be replaced with any standard G9 LED up to 3W.

Can it be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

The Dublin is designed for vertical wall mounting with the glass shade hanging downwards. Horizontal mounting would place the bulb at an awkward angle and change the light distribution pattern.

How is the pressed glass cleaned?

Wipe the glass shade with a damp microfibre cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner. The horizontal ribbing can collect dust and water marks, so a soft brush or cotton bud helps clean between the ridges. Dry with a lint-free cloth to avoid streaking on the chrome.
