Description

The Chawton is a small picture light built from matt black metal, with a rectangular wall plate supporting two adjustable knuckle joints that hold a tubular light shade. The knuckle joints allow the shade to tilt and rotate, directing light down onto a frame, canvas or mirror mounted on the wall below. The compact proportions suit artwork and mirrors between 30cm and 50cm wide.

Designed for hallways, galleries, living rooms and bedrooms where wall-hung art or mirrors need directed illumination, the Chawton mounts directly onto the wall above the piece being lit. The adjustable arms let you angle the light to suit the height and tilt of the frame, reducing glare on glass and highlighting the texture of oil paintings or watercolours. The matt black finish recedes against dark walls and provides contrast against lighter-toned wallpaper.

The all-metal construction gives the fitting durability in high-traffic areas like hallways and stair landings where picture lights can be knocked or brushed past. The matt finish on the black paint minimises reflections under ambient room light, keeping attention on the illuminated artwork rather than the fitting itself.
