Description

The Cello is a 2 light semi-flush ceiling fitting with a 483mm diameter faux alabaster glass bowl held by four curved bronze scrolls that extend from a central column. The antique bronze finish on the metalwork combines a dark bronze base with lighter brass highlights along the edges of the scrollwork. Two E27 bulb holders sit inside the glass bowl (bulbs sold separately).

Designed for hallways, landings and bedrooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m, the 406mm drop provides adequate clearance in rooms where a pendant would hang too low. The semi-flush configuration mounts the fitting closer to the ceiling than a pendant while keeping the bulbs recessed within the glass, reducing glare. The faux alabaster glass diffuses light across the full hemisphere, providing ambient rather than directional illumination.

The scroll metalwork is cast and hand-finished, giving each scroll a dimensional profile rather than a flat stamped appearance. The antique finish is applied by hand, so the brass highlights sit naturally along raised edges rather than in uniform stripes. The glass bowl is cream-toned with subtle marbling to mimic natural alabaster without the weight or fragility of carved stone.
